Thank you all for praying for my cousin, Bethany & her family. They have named him Judah Matthew. Judah means "He (God) shall be praised" and Matthew means "Gift of Yahweh". It is a beautiful testimony that this family has chosen to praise God & thank him for his gift, no matter the outcome.
After a sonogram & amnio last Thursday, they are looking at possible chromosomal defects. There are "concerns about the ventricles in his brain, his nuchal fold (the fatty part in the back of the neck), and his kidneys. All were a little enlarged or dilated." He also has a cleft lip & 6 fingers on his hands. A preliminary test showed negative for Trisomy 13, 18, and 21 (Down's syndrome). More conclusive results will come back in 7-10 days (by next week).
Continue to pray for Beth & Jared. She is at 21 weeks. There are so many uncertainties, but we know a God who is in control...and who holds Judah in the palm of his mighty hand.
